Rasuwa District

Rasuwa remains one of the most severely affected districts, with extensive damage to settlements, hydropower projects, roads and bridges.

Timure and Rasuwagadhi

The border corridor experienced major destruction to settlements, public infrastructure and transport links.

Syabrubesi and Langtang Access

Access has remained difficult in parts of the Langtang and Syabrubesi corridor, with some communities dependent on helicopters or temporary routes.

Nuwakot

Nuwakot became a major centre of tunnel-search operations around Upper Trishuli hydropower projects, while settlements and bridges along the river were also damaged.

Dhading and Prithvi Highway

The consequences extended into Dhading, where the Prithvi Highway collapsed at Krishnabhir, disrupting travel and Kathmandu supply chains.

Housing and Displacement

At least 7,500 homes were reported destroyed in preliminary assessments, while around 20,000 homes may need rebuilding. More than 4,500 displaced people were reported in relief centres by early September.

Why Conditions Can Still Change

Additional rainfall can trigger landslides, move debris and damage temporary access roads. Check Road Closures and Weather before travel.
